Beer & Seed

Great Indie Film
I don't really get the chance to watch many movies due to work commitments but I have to say I'm glad I watched this indie gem. I thought it was really funny and I was impressed by the performances in the film. For me, this film was fresh and unique, which has restored my faith in indie films!

Great Comedy that my Son's and I all enjoyed
BEER & SEED was just funny. This is one of those films that fits for multiple generations. Crazy at it might seem, there is real genius here - fresh and done from a new perspective. "I Love the Fat Chicks" animated piece was classic. Well worth a look!

Really enjoyable and very funny!
I really enjoyed this film, the performances were great and there were some really funny parts. While it was funny, I also thought it was quite edgy and because of this it stands out from the crowd for me. Definitely worth watching!

"DEEP GREEN: Solutions To Stop Global Warming Now" (FINAL CUT)

Looking at solutions.
Deep Green is a 2010 documentary on climate change. Like other documentaries it looks at interconnectivity of systems in the world. Unlike many documentaries on climate change it spends its time looking at what is going right.

I found it full of new information, but not an exciting movie. If you are a teacher and are showing it to a class, multiple sessions are best, not a double period.

Strength of this movie is the prototype approach to the solution. It gives the spotlight to those doing it right. People that are interviewed usually run a successful financial enterprise doing green things.

Two projects covered were of particular interest to me.
New architecture: Health center that brings in and takes away minimal resources. Im not used to looking at buildings as self sufficient structures, and I am glad someone does.
Going back to roots: Analyzing traditional sustainable housing methods. How rainwater was used to cool and provide water for...

Deep Green - what we can do together/alone
This documentary is pretty nice, we really enjoyed watching it.

There is a nice balance in this documentary of things you and I can do as individual households and what the big industries can do AND are doing today. As a scientist it's fascinating to see all the different efforts that are ongoing to go green and bring down our carbon footprint. Some solutions seem more promising then others, but all together there is a lot done, which is promising, although we still have a long way to go in a short period of time.

It was also very interesting to see the active role China has been taking. China has received a lot of bad publicity over the years with their cheap productions and their dirty industry. This documentary was eye opening. China has made a serious effort to bring down their carbon footprint, and continues to do so. The documentary also shows that Germany is struggling to "force" their people to go more green. In addition it shows that Texas, another...

It arrived early and in perfect condition!
I love seeing these wonderful Portland-based indie movie projects! I will always support them and follow your recommendations for making this a better planet.

The Red Shoes

Back Into The Fray: The Second 13 Episodes Of Season One For This Australian Teen Drama
The popular Australian teen import "Dance Academy" has been discovered and embraced by North American audiences after its run on TeenNICK and its availability on Netflix. Its first two seasons are getting an official DVD release, however, for those that want to add it to their permanent DVD collection. I always have to question the marketing thought process behind the decision to split television seasons into different products. I understand, perhaps, if the season airs over two distinct time periods and you want to rush the first batch of episodes to market. But in this case, these are all ready to go. And instead of Season One and Season Two sets with all 26 episodes present, we're getting each Season in Two Volumes of 13 episodes. Truthfully, it doesn't make it any less expensive to the consumer. Are there a bunch of viewers that are going to say "I loved the first half of Season Two, but who wants the second half?" Doubtful and especially so when they are released on the same day...

Excellent show - great dancing, plot, acting - suitable for whole family
This show is great quality - set in Australia. The ballet dancing is real and good. The plots are interesting and dramatic without being too soapy. The characters change over two seasons and it's fun to follow those stories. I was most surprised by how much I like it as an adult and how current it seems without being too edgy. It's a pretty clean show from what I recall. So glad to see good ballet technique from good actors.

Pleased
My 10 year old loved it, Usually when she likes something I find content that I don't wish for her to watch. This show touched some extremely sensitive matters with remarkable tact.

Surf's Up

Campy but fun
This show is very campy to me, but it is a show I unjoy watching. It is set in and made in Australia, so some of the dialect can confuse, but all in all, I think it is a cute show, and Kiki and Zoe, the aliens mentioned in the title, are somewhat innocent to Earth and it's ways, and human emotions are alien to them, at first, but with earthling Amber and her friends to help, they are getting along just fine. But they, especially Zoe, LOVE to surf, and since the only reason they ventured here was to surf, the title makes sense.

campy
It's fun to watch,a bit campy but overall just a teen tv show.
If you liked h2o,I think you will enjoy this.

Alien Surf Girls
I watched this show and liked it at first. After awhile I just stopped liking it. It got off track to me.

the little one goes bonkers for the big orange tractor song
our 4yr old loves this, and i even get a kick out of it.

sure beats the brainless and poorly animated fodder that dominates much of tv kids programming.

intelligent, innovative, visually spectacular, fun music, has it all

Why is this show so hard to find
My daughter loves this show, but since Sprouts stopped showing it, it has been impossible to find. The creative animation is a welcome change to the standard, and the message is perfect! I don't understand why Amazon only allows streaming of one episode...

Love this show!
Fun and interesting to watch, this show is visually fascinating. but what I love most is it teaches children that all of nature is connected and interdependent. As a gardener I learn so many environmentally friendly tricks. It's a totally "green" show.
