Beer & Seed

Great Indie Film
I don't really get the chance to watch many movies due to work commitments but I have to say I'm glad I watched this indie gem. I thought it was really funny and I was impressed by the performances in the film. For me, this film was fresh and unique, which has restored my faith in indie films!

Great Comedy that my Son's and I all enjoyed
BEER & SEED was just funny. This is one of those films that fits for multiple generations. Crazy at it might seem, there is real genius here - fresh and done from a new perspective. "I Love the Fat Chicks" animated piece was classic. Well worth a look!

Really enjoyable and very funny!
I really enjoyed this film, the performances were great and there were some really funny parts. While it was funny, I also thought it was quite edgy and because of this it stands out from the crowd for me. Definitely worth watching!

"DEEP GREEN: Solutions To Stop Global Warming Now" (FINAL CUT)

Looking at solutions.
Deep Green is a 2010 documentary on climate change. Like other documentaries it looks at interconnectivity of systems in the world. Unlike many documentaries on climate change it spends its time looking at what is going right.

I found it full of new information, but not an exciting movie. If you are a teacher and are showing it to a class, multiple sessions are best, not a double period.

Strength of this movie is the prototype approach to the solution. It gives the spotlight to those doing it right. People that are interviewed usually run a successful financial enterprise doing green things.

Two projects covered were of particular interest to me.
New architecture: Health center that brings in and takes away minimal resources. Im not used to looking at buildings as self sufficient structures, and I am glad someone does.
Going back to roots: Analyzing traditional sustainable housing methods. How rainwater was used to cool and provide water for...

Deep Green - what we can do together/alone
This documentary is pretty nice, we really enjoyed watching it.

There is a nice balance in this documentary of things you and I can do as individual households and what the big industries can do AND are doing today. As a scientist it's fascinating to see all the different efforts that are ongoing to go green and bring down our carbon footprint. Some solutions seem more promising then others, but all together there is a lot done, which is promising, although we still have a long way to go in a short period of time.

It was also very interesting to see the active role China has been taking. China has received a lot of bad publicity over the years with their cheap productions and their dirty industry. This documentary was eye opening. China has made a serious effort to bring down their carbon footprint, and continues to do so. The documentary also shows that Germany is struggling to "force" their people to go more green. In addition it shows that Texas, another...

The Red Shoes

Back Into The Fray: The Second 13 Episodes Of Season One For This Australian Teen Drama
The popular Australian teen import "Dance Academy" has been discovered and embraced by North American audiences after its run on TeenNICK and its availability on Netflix. Its first two seasons are getting an official DVD release, however, for those that want to add it to their permanent DVD collection. I always have to question the marketing thought process behind the decision to split television seasons into different products. I understand, perhaps, if the season airs over two distinct time periods and you want to rush the first batch of episodes to market. But in this case, these are all ready to go. And instead of Season One and Season Two sets with all 26 episodes present, we're getting each Season in Two Volumes of 13 episodes. Truthfully, it doesn't make it any less expensive to the consumer. Are there a bunch of viewers that are going to say "I loved the first half of Season Two, but who wants the second half?" Doubtful and especially so when they are released on the same day...

Excellent show - great dancing, plot, acting - suitable for whole family
This show is great quality - set in Australia. The ballet dancing is real and good. The plots are interesting and dramatic without being too soapy. The characters change over two seasons and it's fun to follow those stories. I was most surprised by how much I like it as an adult and how current it seems without being too edgy. It's a pretty clean show from what I recall. So glad to see good ballet technique from good actors.

Pleased
My 10 year old loved it, Usually when she likes something I find content that I don't wish for her to watch. This show touched some extremely sensitive matters with remarkable tact.

Surf's Up

Campy but fun
This show is very campy to me, but it is a show I unjoy watching. It is set in and made in Australia, so some of the dialect can confuse, but all in all, I think it is a cute show, and Kiki and Zoe, the aliens mentioned in the title, are somewhat innocent to Earth and it's ways, and human emotions are alien to them, at first, but with earthling Amber and her friends to help, they are getting along just fine. But they, especially Zoe, LOVE to surf, and since the only reason they ventured here was to surf, the title makes sense.

campy
It's fun to watch,a bit campy but overall just a teen tv show.
If you liked h2o,I think you will enjoy this.

Alien Surf Girls
I watched this show and liked it at first. After awhile I just stopped liking it. It got off track to me.

our 4yr old loves this, and i even get a kick out of it.

sure beats the brainless and poorly animated fodder that dominates much of tv kids programming.

intelligent, innovative, visually spectacular, fun music, has it all

Why is this show so hard to find
My daughter loves this show, but since Sprouts stopped showing it, it has been impossible to find. The creative animation is a welcome change to the standard, and the message is perfect! I don't understand why Amazon only allows streaming of one episode...

Love this show!
Fun and interesting to watch, this show is visually fascinating. but what I love most is it teaches children that all of nature is connected and interdependent. As a gardener I learn so many environmentally friendly tricks. It's a totally "green" show.

These short films will have you ooo-ing and ahhh-ing, talking to the screen and talking to the characters. And then hitting rewind so that you can do it again! Each one is magnificent on it's own. BUT TOGETHER......this is POWERFUL! This DVD is a must own. You WILL watch it over and over and over....

Love these Short Films
I received my copy the other day in the mail and watched them all last night. Thoroughly enjoyed Sisters, Marco Polo and When Beautiful People do Ugly Things. Absolutely Wonderful. I only wished they were longer. They ended too soon. :-) I had never seen or heard about Commitment until last night. It was very intriguing. The story lines, the music, the acting, the production, everything was just very well done. I can't wait to see what Team Sizzle has for us next. It's very captivating. Get your copy, you won't regret it.

Awesome Shorts

The Tenants

Wonderfully horrifying....
This episode frightened even my jaded children...I should look for my own dybbuk box. I love being horrified & Paranormal Witness rarely fails...

Good Show
Most of these are really great shows; but, why is it that [usually] the husbands, boyfriends, brothers, boy-friends, are almost always super !!JERKS!!about what their friends and lovers are going through. If my husband ever laughed at me like that, well.....
They don't have to believe them, but they could just listen to, and comfort them. [IMOHO]
I also like that these shows are told from the first-person perspective, I don't mind narration, but this is a refreshing change. Believe me, if you like shows like 'A Haunting', 'My Ghost Story~caught on video', or even Haunted History; it's nearly a sure bet you won't be disappointed.
One last thing; I find this show a bit scarier than others in it's genre.

SCARIEST EPISODE EVER
I must admit I watch a lot of these shows. But, I do find the Paranormal Witness to be one of my favorites. This episode, by far, is one of the scariest things I have ever watched! I do find that there are even some questions that still do need to be answered and I hope that after this airs, a serious paranormal team investigates this building and reports its findings. Hope you enjoy......

Booley

Sweet Revenge is Pretty Stark
As the old story goes, you can only push a guy too far before he stand up to fight back. "Booley" is a dark feature with a strange twist, and well done on a shoe-string budget. Concidering it's not a fresh storyline, how did Christian Grillo pull it off? Simple, he created a solid character and surrounded himself with fresh blood in the acting pool. Tom Detrik plays the title shlub, Angus Booley and he rules the role. A married guy with a dead end job who sees things going badly quick, and nice guys finish last. He is fired for no good reason, his wife is cheating and his lil daughter Rose is bullied in school. Angus grows to be a badass after viewing a Tony Robbins like guru on DVD named Jack Harrington, played by a good actor named Christopher Mann. Angus reads the guy all wrong and thinks it's good to committ murder and mayhem. Funny idea!

Grillo peppers the movie with stark images and over-the-top violence, and Detrik has a fun time in the mix of humor and pathos. It's...

Logos

Worth the Wait
This film's release was pushed back three times, but now that it's here, I am saying it was totally worth the wait!

Logos is a moody film, brooding with depression and toying with suicide. It evolves slowly, and builds carefully, toward a surprising and enjoyable catharsis. Cerebral, sometimes bordering on pretentious, it makes the viewers think not just about the terrorist attacks of 9/11, and not even our own mortality, but about the basic meaning of life in the face of suffering. The ideas alluded to (I don't want to say presented because the film is not didactic at all) are clearly borrowed from Viktor Frankl's Logotherapy--hence the name. I strongly recommend you read Viktor's "Man's Search for Meaning".

For the budget the filmmaker took Logos as far as it could go. There are special effects pretty much in every frame, but these are not used in a gaudy, heavy-handed, gratuitous way. I see references to old time radio, film noire, surrealism, and avant garde...

Delinquent

A great flick!
An interesting/unexpected film by Peter Christian Hall. I am a big fan of his book: American Fever: A Tale of Romance & Pestilence. (available at amazon.com)

Delinquent offers a sophisticated, fantasy dream sequence to the viewer, that is...sexually alluring! Great writing, filming & tight editing. The film ends in a twisty, unpredictable way. Thumbs up!

Sometimes it pays to be curious!!
Having read "American Fever" by Peter Christian Hall just made me curious to see if the movie he made before that, was as good as the book. It was! I really didn't know what to expect. It was about a teenage boy with a tyrant of a father and how he deals with life. I really don't like to give plots away; when I watch a movie I prefer to know nothing about the film. I want to be surprised. I just want to say that it is very, very good. I was touched. I cried. This is a film for both men and women. Like books, I want depth and something to think about afterwards. This move has both. I will definitely watch it again.

Little known gem!
Just caught up with this film after 'meeting' director/writer/producer Peter Christian Hall online through mutual friends. Peter is best known as a freelance writer based in New York who has written articles for the likes of Rolling Stone, the Village Voice and the New York Times, but here he shows a visual eye as well. The story features 15-year-old Tim whose mother killed herself and left her body for him to find, and whose father is a policeman in small-town New York where they have recently moved. Tim's father is also abusive and part of Tim's way of coping is through a fantasy life. Soon fantasy and reality merge, as Tim tries to deal with his situation. But it's not your typical coming-of-age movie. The story is told through interesting shots, dreams and fantasy sequences. And the direction is in very capable hands, especially for a first-time director who shows he knows a little something about making a film. The acting is more than adequate for a film shot on such a...

Throwing Iron

A true one of a Kind
Shedding light on a sport that rarely touches the center stage of American athletics. Consisting of truly dedicated Strength based Athletes that are the best at what they do in the world let alone the country. A behind the scenes look into a world not many know and the individual athletes who command the presence of the spotlight year in and year out. Truly some of the Strongest, most powerful pure athletes left in the world and a look at what makes them tick.
A very special Documentary about the ride to the 2008 olympics.

Small Movie about Big Men (that's not a bad thing)
At its most basic level, Throwing Iron is a very simple movie. It follows four shot putters - three of which whom later compete in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Emphasis is wisely placed on the personalities and dedication of the shot putters. Likewise, the fly on the wall approach utilized by the filmmaker makes the athletes relatable and effectively illustrates the dedication that each shot putter demonstrates. Background information on shot put is minimal but effective, as the majority of the movie is about the competitors' journey and dedication to the sport. Throwing Iron is simple in scope and thoroughly entertaining.

great movie!
awesome documentary! anyone who follows throwing should watch it. I will watch it again and again... yes indeed oh yes

Dark Night of the Pumpkinman 2

Solid Horror-Thriller Movie
Solid horror-thriller of a movie. Didn't know it was going to be that interesting judging it was going to be the typical low-budget horror feature. The movie takes some nice twists and turns, while keeping the audience on its toes of where the ride will take us next. Interpreting the title, I didn't know what to expect. This was either going to be a hit or miss for me. It turned out to be a mystery-suspense-thriller, than an actual blood n' guts B-movie horror flick. There are a lot of good looking women, and "The Pumpkinman" has an original edge that worked (I didn't think it would). The movie at times looks like a 70's/80's classic horror flick...which I love. I grew up on movies like that, and they don't make 'em like they use to. Now-a-days everything has a 3 second tension span, with quick, frantic, maniacal scares. The psychology is different these days as more is more. Everything is overdone; more blood, more scares, and bigger boobs. This movie doesn't take the typical...

Mutt Boy

Great film
Started to watch because it was listed as a foreign comedy. It is definitely foreign. Comedic at times. Dark at others. Great flick on multiple levels with interesting values and morals.

A poignant satire of the underclass in modern Korea
The movie is a nice vignette of the underclass in modern Korea who may not have the education or the wealth of the modernized S. Koreans. The movie shows an interesting interplay between criminal elements and the legal/police establishment through the eyes and experiences of a high school drop out. The acting by Jung woo-sung, the main character is quite impressive and it is very different from the roles that he has played in other famous Korean films. It shows the versatility of Jun Woo Sung's acting abilities and roles that he can play. If you have experience living in S. Korea, this film will be much enjoyed. The only problem is that the translation of the subtitles are a bit off and so if one does not understand Korean, some of the nuances will be lost.

Korean films have heart
I wish Hollywood would make movies like the Korean movies I am so glad to watch here at Amazon. There's something more real, heartfelt, and believable about these movies, and they don't rely on CGI and other special effects. The English translators made some big mistakes in this movie, but otherwise it's engaging, well-acted, and has some serious themes. Yay for Korean cinema.

Naughty Gold Diggers

Soft Porn or Fun Social Commentary? Both!
Sure, this movie looks a little primitive by Hollywood standards; but overall it's more thought-provoking than similar films (if there are any) from the U.S., and the 'Naughty Gold Digger' Character is the most mysterious. Is she real or supernatural -- a naughty girl, or a malevolent spirit? What's she looking for -- if anything?! Why does the money so confuse the (male) protagonist? What is *he* looking for, after all, out of life?

If you don't mind subtitles, i recommend this peak into Japanese society [not Korean, my mistake -- was confusing it with 'Secret Love'], especially the "success"-driven youth. Don't watch it for the porn content alone, which (as seems typical of Asian cinema) shows little or nothing below the waist, but is otherwise fine.

Cute, sexy Japanese
These soft, sexy, funny films from Japan and Korea, aside from T &A scenes, have silly humor and hit accurately some modern social mores. Cute, easy on the eyes, nice to kill a couple hours.

Sexy actress
Some movies just last too long for the story they are telling. This is one of those movies that made me skip to the end.

Good Story
It was a good story. I was glad that it wasn't gruesome. Some things could have been fixed in post production, like the sound, sometimes the picture. But I get it. It was a low budget film. I do those too. You work with what you got. Could have used more skin from some of those gorgeous girls. (Spoiler Alert) Great ending! I was gonna be pissed if that guy died at the end, when he had everything going for him and got out of the life.

Too Young To Die

Too Young To Give Up On
I viewed this movie several years ago and found it absolutely powerful. As an advocate/speaker on the issue of child prostitution, I found the actors portraying realistic and convincing roles. Sexual abuse, abandonment and exploitation are just a few of the issues presented in this video. Sexual abuse and exploitation of young girls is not a issue that can be under-estimated. The actors took risks and great courage to present a very dark and complex issue in our society today.

Not to die for
I finally saw this film the other night, after having it on a wish list for a long time. I'm mixed on Brad Pitt - I think that his later work is really good, while his early work is pretty borderline at best - and Juliette Lewis has her moments.

This was a made-for-TV film, so you know that it won't have amazing production values, which is OK. I'm not a big special-effects guy anyways. But there is one glaring flaw with this film, a flaw that you won't know just by watching: it is based upon an actual case, but the story was changed from that case so much that it loses its value.

I have nothing wrong with writers and directors taking liberties with a story. But sometimes, truth is stranger than fiction so why change it? But here, the original motivation for the film was to take a left-leaning stance on capital punishment I believe, trying to show that our system is flawed. Well, that would be fine, except for the fact that, if you read the real story, you...

Brad's rehersal for Thelma & Louise
I couldn't believe how close the two characters Pitt played in this movie and Thelma and Louise were. They were both scummy dirt bag roles which Brad Pitt plays very well.
It was fun to watch Juliette Lewis in her early days and to reflect on how she has grown (and learned how to dance)(Natural Born Killers; Wow!).
This is a good watch, but only because you know who these two stars are.
If these were two unknowns, I doubt if you would bother watching it.

Angelababy is such a rising star... I'm becoming more and more impressed by her acting abilities. Eddie Peng is just hilarious... Although, I'm not sure it was necessary to make his skin so artificially tan... I mean a light bronze makes sense since the movie is set in Malaysia, but he's like...orange. lol.

Hey Dillon - The Director's Cut

From Americana Roots by Pigeon O'Brien
Before I knew Brett Dillon, I only knew OF Brett Dillon. Disney, Secret of the Wings

Amazing Movie for the Whole Family
About halfway through this movie I looked over my 8 year old daughter, and almost 12 year old son, to my husband and said, "I can't believe I'm getting goosebumps from a Tinker Bell movie."

Yes. Goosebumps.

My daughter and I have watched all the Tinker Bell movies in the franchise, and have even watched the specials on the Disney channel. I have to say that we've loved all the movies, but I think Secret of the Wings is now my favorite.

I won't bore you with the synopsis, as you can read it above, but I will tell you about what we liked,

-New characters!! Not only do we get to see all the favorites, we get lots of brand new characters as well, including Periwinkle (of course), Dewey (the Keeper), Lord Milori (voiced by Timothy Dalton! Yes!), and a host of new friends from the Winter Woods.

-No bad guys. I realized when I was watching this that there are no bad guys in a Tinker Bell movie! There are bad things that happen (and an...

A wonderful movie with a moment of personal sacrifice by Tinkerbell
I saw this movie with my new children on September 2012 at El Capitan in Los Angeles (a special showing). My three year-old daughter and my five year-old son sat there mesmerized for the duration of the whole movie. This movie has a beautiful story-line and wonderful execution. If Disney had touched up the scenery ("background") a little more, it could have easily been ready for theaters. Even as is, the winter scenery is well done. I actually think this movie might be my favorite of the four tinkerbell movies (and I have watched each of them several times with my kids).
The story includes a beautiful moment of personal sacrifice by Tinkerbell. She "gives up" something she values greatly to save those she loves (I cannot reveal details without spoiler alert). What a wonderful lesson for young ones! I would recommend this highly to any parent with a young son or daughter.

Another magical Tinker Bell adventure
I have to admit that Disney's Tinker bell movies have become something of a guilty pleasure for me. I say "guilty pleasure" because I'm a 41 year old male - hardly Disney's target audience for the Tinker Bell movies! What's more, I can't even use the "I watched this with my kids" excuse cos I don't have any!! But I believe these movies can be enjoyed by people of any age - male or female! I watched Secret of the Wings last night and thoroughly enjoyed it, and it's easily as good as the other 3 movies, possibly the best yet. My favourite so far was TB and The Lost Treasure, but this could easily surpass that after further viewings. It's wintry setting with all the snow and ice really give the film an enchanting, magical feel. I watched this on Blu-ray (2D) and the picture quality - as expected from Disney - is amazing. The winter setting with it's icy whites and cool blues really look great. This film really deserves to be seen in HD. All of the animation is top notch too - everything...

Given the rarity of good films made in Hollywood these days, I had no reasonable expectations, statistically, for a good film here. So I went into the cinema and hoped for the best, but expected nothing.

Imagine my surprise when I found that "Abe Lincoln" is 1. a well-acted period film with great sets and costumes, 2. a wildly paced action special effects feast, 3. an effectively witty self-satirical historical rewrite and 4. a gruesomely graphic horror flick! I don't see this as a perfect film--it's got flaws. But the handful of flaws that bother me, I can ignore, because this is a film made with a joyous spirit, and the overall structure works well. I've seen this five times in the theatre at this point. I haven't seen a film that many times theatrically in over twenty years! I had read the book and enjoyed it,...

I never thought I'd appreciate my 5th grade Civil War history lessons. They paid off well in gory fun well worth the wait!
Director Timur Bekmambetov is a veteran of exaggerated action and genre-splitting fang flicks, having directed Night Watch (2004), Day Watch (2006) and Wanted (2008). In addition to some of those he has produced The Darkest Hour (2011), Apollo 18 (2011) and the possible Wanted 2 (????). He picks weird projects and visually supplements them in unexpected and often impressive (though also often ridiculous) ways. He's a creative guy and, in general, I'm pleased with his work--including his latest: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Our story begins by weaving motive. Young Abraham witnesses the death of his mother at the hand of a vampire. From that day into adulthood, Abraham (Benjamin Walker in his first major role and looking like a young Liam Neeson) seeks revenge against that vampire, but hates them all.

Honest Abe is trained by Henry Sturgess (Dominic Cooper), who is as un-Yoda-like as it gets complete with rigid rules, a temper and a penchant for...

Kill Bill, Priest, Underworld, and Blade, back in the 1800s!
If you like the Vampire movie the "Priest", then you will Love this movie. Stunning high visual and heavy hitting action. Top (A +) CGI, and stunning cinematography. Beautiful period wardrobe and stunning period sets. A-list acting from all actors. Superior script that works. Don't be put off by the Lincoln idea, the script actually works...and the young man selected to perform Lincoln does a damn good job of it, from start to finish. This movie has some of the most stunning balls-to-wall action I have ever seen in a movie...and gives competition to the Underworld, and the Blade Movies! Remember this movie is produced by A-List Director (Tim Burton), and he does not put out Bulls*** movies! This is an A-List Vampire movie and is one of the best Vampire action movies that I have ever seen in a while. This movie is different and takes you to another place and time. It's made very well I must say. In closing, this is not a movie you would rent. This is a rare kind of movie that is...

Redneck Roots

Original and Hilarious -- Fantastic Movie!!
This is such a unique and original take on the "southern romantic comedy." It succeeds in portraying authentic "redneck" characters and southern atmosphere, while still remaining relatable and hilarious to everyone that watches it. The talented cast shine throughout the movie and will have you crying with laughter. Watching Redneck Roots is an experience that everyone in the family will enjoy!

Southern fried fun
A genuine and lighthearted movie! You don't have to be from the south to relate to Crystal Lynn's crazy family.
Grandma Lee had me in tears from laughing.
What I loved the most as a southern watching this movie was the details that really made it feel like my home town. The awful dresses at church, the hidden moonshine, the grandma's smoking virginia slims, the BOJANGLES!
Super cute and heartwarming movie!

Wet Your Pants Comedy Film Festival award winner!
"Redneck Roots" is a fantastically funny film that was a huge hit at the 2012 Wet Your Pants Comedy Film Festival. We were honored to award them the Steve Pearce Memorial Award, an award created to honor the memory of our festival's inspiration. Each and every character in this film is unforgettable with some of the greatest personality quirks we've seen. Jeff Hamrick as Darell Pigg steals the show as a radio disc jockey with tourettes and other issues. Carol Anne Watts is fantastic in her role as Amber Jo. We HIGHLY recommend this film.

Beijing Punk

mu shu punk
short documentary - little over an hour - and perhaps a bit heavy on the self-congratulatoriness of the cbgb-franchising w/ club D-22 (although to be fair, not completely w/o merit), but overall a worthy xamination o' what i can only hope are the first few jagged stones thrown into the vast sea that is china

however the real tragedy is that these bands may be born, live a life o' constant struggle, and perish w/ hardly any notice from the outside world

working bands need to tour to survive - especially for those genres which are decidedly underground; and if, as the director/narrator says, 'they'll never be able to make it in china', then they will HAVE to go abroad.......yet if the gov keeps denying their visas, this will most likely suffocate these bands - which admittedly the chinese government probably has no problem w/, particularly as punk bands tend to have a political bent. on the other hand this may make them even more determined and relevant as their...

Interesting, cool music
Wish they had shown full performances of the bands, maybe one full song per band. But the stories are interesting especially if you know and like Asian punk like I do.

Street Noises Invade The House

L. Josh
My wife and I are both deaf. We personally thought, "Switched at Birth", was an excellent show! My wife and I agreed that some of parts reminded us of our experiences we went through with our hearing families. I felt this show would be a great example to help the hearing people understand better about deaf culture. Unfortunately, it'd shown on cable channel only instead of regular ABC channel. I am considering buying this DVDs for some of our families who need to learn about us. I hope it will give them a wake up call.

i want more
my mother nagged and nagged and nagged at me to watch switched at birth. i am not a tv watcher. im a book person, i movie person but tv, i just dont get around to it. One weekend im sitting on her couch and she asks, since im not doing anything would i like to watch switched at birth (which she still had on the dvr). Within the first couple of minuets i was glued in and by the end of the first episode i was at the point where i could watch it for hours and hours and hours. it was just that great. real people, real situations, great characters. its not just about 2 girls being switched at birth but thats just a part of the story. its about a wealthy mother (played by the wonderful leah thompson who you may remember from "some kind of wonderful" from the 80s) who never met her birth child having to learn to step up to the plate with her long lost deaf child "daphne" and get to know her. its about "bay" whos trying to find someone who she can connect with in her own family until...

Switched at Birth
it a wonderful and great movies.for all peoples. but peoples that have family's member with hard of hearing or deaf it great to have this movies watch it u will understand it better

Grimlord's Greatest Hits

Trooper Transform!! We are VR!
I bought this at Power Morphicon 3 they had it for sale early only for the weekend. No special features but video quality is really good so glad this is finally came out! I asked if the remaining seasons will come out for sure and Shout Factory told me yes they will release the complete series.

one cool show
when VR TROOOPERS first aired I really did not see it only a few times because it was on late afternoon now I seen most of the first season and iam hooked it like power rangers but with more action I cant wait to get the other dvds the down side is you have you have to watch it in order to know what going on if you like the power rangers you will like vr troopers

Troopers Transform!
A great show that unfortunately didn't last too long. What's interesting here is that there was a pilot for this show that I think didn't air. It was a Cybertron pilot. I think VR Troopers was originally called Cybertron before being renamed. the role of Ryan Steele was played by Jason David Frank. But for remains unknown to me, the role was then given to Brad Hawkins. He portrayed Ryan best. The Grimlord character was excellently portrayed as well. I wish the show lasted longer than it did. But I'm glad it's finally getting released. About time!

Can't wait to watch this again.

Pixie Hollow Games, Disney Fairies

Cute and entertaining!
Disney's Fairies series staring TinkerBell and her friends are all really great. Though this story features Tink in a cameo of sorts, the real stars of the Pixie Hollow Games are Rosetta and Chloe (a new fairy introduced in this story). The two Garden fairies form a team to win the Pixie Hollow games, which is like the fairy olympics and each of the different talent fairies battle it out for the top spot. The reigning champs are the Storm fairies and no one thinks the Garden fairies stand a chance. You'll have to watch to see how it turns out.

My only complaint is I wish is was a bit longer, but c'est la vie. It was a 30-minute special that originally aired on TV to begin with. The only other issue was the quality of the Amazon On Demand. I would have liked it to be better, but it was okay and didn't detract from the story.

The Disney Fairies Go For The Gold!
Tinker Bell and the Pixie Hollow Games is a 2013 Disney DVD of the 2011 Disney Channel TV special featuring Tinker Bell and the Disney Fairies. Originally available only on the Secret Of The Wings Blu-Ray Combo Pack, This 22-minute adventure is now available on Disney DVD. In this story, Pixie Hollow welcomes the Pixie Hollow Games for the Summer, and for the Garden Fairies, it means another losing season. Rosetta, tired of taking part, decides to sit out until a newest arrival fairy named Chloe competes in the Games and ask Rosetta to be her partner. At first Rosetta balked at the idea but, with the advice of Tinker Bell, decides to competes with Chloe. The events are intense and exciting to watch, but all in all, it ends with competitors being new friends and learns a valued lesson in good sportsmanship. Mae Whitman, Raven, Megan Hilty(replacing Kristin Chenoweth), Lucy Liu, Angela Bartys, Pamela Aldon, Brenda Song(Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior), Zendaya(Shake It Up), Jesse...

My daughter has watched this several times!
My daughter, and son, love the characters in Pixie Hollow universe. It is always nice to have a show that has a good message and you don't have to worry to much as a parent if your kids watch it. Definitely would recommend!

Cottage to Let

A fine home-front spy mystery from 1941, with Alastair Sim
Wordy? A little. But this British home-front spy mystery from 1941 is also fine entertainment, reasonably exciting and features two first-rate performances by Alastair Sim as the suspicious Charles Dimble and 16-year-old George Cole as the 15-year-old London kid, Ronald, resourceful and energetic. Ronald thinks Sherlock Holmes is "the greatest man whatever lived" and is pretty good at deducing things. Bear in mind that Sim and his wife took Cole into their household when he was a boy and became Cole's foster parents. Sim saw to Cole's education. When Cole wanted to become an actor like Sim, Sim also saw to Cole's training. They appeared together in more than a dozen movies, not as a team but as two skilled comic actors.

John Barrington (Leslie Banks) is a brilliant, eccentric British inventor. He works at his grand manor house in Scotland and has almost developed a revolutionary bomb sight. The Nazis want his secrets, preferably with Barrington as well. Barrington has a...

Very Tricky
I like the spy mistery movie with all the twist and turns it took. I picked the wrong guys for the villians till late in the movie.

Twists and Turns
There are twists and turns through out the movie that keep the viewr guessing who "the bad guy" is. A good WWII thriller.

Magic Mike (Movie Only + UltraViolet Digital Copy) (Blu-ray)

Love love love me some Channing Tatum...and the dancing gets 10 stars, but...
This movie is AWFUL. Seriously, just bad. I saw it in the theater AND I pre-ordered the DVD/BluRay/Ultraviolet combo. So why would I want to own a movie I already knew was bad? Can you say Channing Tatum bumping and grinding on the dance floor? Channing Tatum is at his luscious best in this film as far as his dancing and body, but it's like he totally forgot how to act at all (not that he was Oscar material before this anyway). The dancing in this movie is excellent and SO.HOT. and Matthew McConaughey is awesome when he's used for comic relief (when it gets serious even the great McConaughey is pretty bad). The plot and even most of the acting in this movie is just downright pitiful.

Would I own the movie? YEP, I DO. Would I watch the movie more than once? Yep, I have. Would I say it's cinematic magic worthy of an Oscar? NO WAY. Do I recommend this movie to pretty much all women who might kind of like the look of Channing Tatum? Absolutely. Do I recommend this...

Eye Charms galore
I first saw this movie trailer when I saw Haywire. I did not really know who Channing Tatum was(dumb me), let alone he was in Haywire. I thought a male stripper movie. I have seen my share of male strippers and if it was going to be like watching the Chippendales, I thought how boring. Well it came out and it was going strong at the theater in July so what the hell, I went and saw it. All I can say is WOW it was raining men and and hot bods and man candy. Definitely not boring. Channing Tatum can definitely move and the dance in the red thong is Oh My God. We women finally get something decent to look at, after all the years of enduring movies where chicks get naked and the guys are drooling. So the guys get to suck it up. Seeing Channing Tatum's naked rear-end and just about everything else, makes your mouth drop open. He is drop dead gorgeous and sexy as hell and the rest are not bad on the eyes either. Joe Mangianello from True Blood is holy crap hot too. It was a pretty decent...

Does Not Explain that regular DVD Version Does Not Have Complete Dance Routines
I received my DVD version of "Magic Mike" today from Amazon.com. It does not contain the additional footage (dance sequences by Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer.) I was told today by someone that only the Blue Ray combo pac version has this. THIS IS NOT CLEAR IN ANY OF THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS PUT OUT BY AMAZON.COM. Shame on you Amazon, for deliberately misleading the public. Since I saw the film, I would not have purchased this DVD, but wanted to see the dance footage that Soderberg did not include in the film. I don't own a BLU RAY DVD player, by the way and can't afford one. I'm certainly disappointed that the Distribution Company distributed this product in this way.

This is one of the best shows around. Epic story, epic characters, epic jokes and epic epicness! My three year old daughter loves it, but it isn't for everyone. If you're lame, or don't like your children being exposed to awesomeness then this show isn't for you.

Amazing
This show just keeps getting better and better every season. It never ceases to amaze me. And My children love it too.

Best Lumping Show EVER
This is such a great show. Love being able to buy it an episode at a time rather than paying for cartoon network to get it cause it is that AWESOME

Each film is very well acted and is like a slice of life. As you watch, you find yourself thinking you'd like it to continue as it comes to an end.

great movie shorts
Good for just something to watch during the week when nothing else is on. Could have more nude men in it.

Top pick of my grand sons
My two grand sons are really taken with the Power Rangers. We'd like to see more of their adventures on Amazon.

Power Rangers Samurai
This is a video that my little four-year-old friend wanted to watch. He is very much into the Power Rangers and loved this video, but I am not a particular fan.

good movies
my son liked it. He's 7 years old, however, I still don't recommend for him to see this kind of it because I don't want him to see movies or play games with action or violation.

The Fighting Texans

Great Western
If you love old Westerns, and I have been on a Rex Bell kick recently... this is a great film. Don't expect major studio production quality. This kind of independent studio created Westerns in the 1930s as if they were shot in someone's back yard. But they are fun and Rex Bell is a great actor -- not the caliber of John Wayne, but an enjoyable Western nonetheless.

Bikini Babes Movie Nine

Gorgeous and Fun
Ky is amazing once again. An hour of her dancing and smiling is a dream. With respect to a previous review, Ky has a curvy and BEAUTIFUL body. A lot of people just have unrealistic expectations about how women should look. Ky is gorgeous and she is perfect just the way she is.

definitely definitely!
definitely cute.... cute for sure and she loves performing for the camera and being the center of attention. I have watched her many times. She wears smaller bikinis in this movie than her first one. (which I like too)

Too Chubby
This girl is not nearly as attractive as the girls in the previous Bikini Babes movies I'd seen. Very disappointed.I only watched it once and then deleted it from my library.

John Wayne - In The Movies

The Duke
Maybe just snippets of the movies but I wouldn't call this a waste of time. Take it for what it is, could be useful for people that are looking for info on Mr. Wayne's career.

Just a collection of movie commercials
No story here. No background or relevant information on John Wayne. Only trailers from his films in chronological order. Waste of time.

Love John Wayne
We like learning about our favorite old time stars when Hollywood was in its heyday! John Wayne had so many wonderful films and he's one of the heros of American Film.

The Hellcats

When only a bad film will satisfy
'Savage Cinema' is a collection of low budget, B grade films - mostly from the now defunct Crown International Pictures company - several of which are no longer available to purchase new, or even in DVD, except in this or in one of several other packages offered by Mill Creek Entertainment. Technically, the films vary in quality - I'm sure the least amount of preservation went in to the production of the packaging as possible. I'm not familiar with the procedure of transferring film stock onto DVD, but the image that shows up on my screen looks exactly like a projected film, often accompanied by the scratches, skips and cigarette burns you might notice at the drive-in.

And that's exactly what these films are - cheap films to make a quick buck off of the kids more interested in the 'getting to know you social arena' of the family sedan's back seat. Though I have no need for that sort of pretense anymore, these films still have a certain charm - though like anything else,...

the CROWN INTERNATIONAL library is back in print
I happened across this when Amazon recommended it for me and i was thrilled. after BCI/Eclipse closed its doors i was afraid it was going to be impossible to track down some of the titles i still wanted and didn't get. then came the SAVAGE CINEMA 12 pack via Mill Creek. consisting of off the wall biker movies, car racing movies and some other movies like Death Machines. This collection has some of the harder to find titles and the transfers are new and widescreen with the exception of "Sidehackers" which is the original 1.33:1 pan and scan transfer. (this appears to be the same version used on MST3K) for how many movies are in this set, the quality of the movies presentation and the overall price you can't go wrong... especially if you enjoy 60's and 70's flicks that at times are unintentionally funny.

Death Riders
I liked most, but not all of the movies in this set. I really liked the Death Riders documentary a lot. It alone was worth the price I paid for the set. I've gotten other sets with large collections of movies like this but many of those other sets were disappointing. This one has some good stuff on it.

'Neath Arizona Skies

neath arizona
it a very good movie even with it not to great quality the quality could improve a lot more also sound.

Neath Arizona Skies dvd and update 4/13
All prints of this film which I have viewed are in rough shape. Synergy print is better than some , but for watching (contrast/ sound) I prefer the print issued by Platinum / Echo Bridge offered as a buy one - get one free. NOW JUST RELEASED (2012-2013) IS THE REMASTERED PRINT FROM THE ORIGINAL NEGATIVE! BY MR. FAT. THERE HAVE BEEN SOME MINOR CHANGES IN THE MUSIC BACKGROUND - BUT THEY ARE MINOR AND GOOD. THE PICTURE WILL BLOW EVERYTHING OUT THERE AWAY. I JUST VIEWED THE FILM AND YOU WILL DO YOURSELF A DISERVICE IF YOU PURCHASE SOME OTHER LESS EXPENSIVE PUBLIC DOMAIN COPY.

two good 1934 westerns
The pattern of children being a main part of the plot in
both these movies plays to the fact that "B" western like these
showed on Saturdays to kids across America.
The sound on the second movie was pretty bad on the tape I saw.
Cattle rustling at night is a pretty stupid plot element
in that movie ( something like the 10 shot six shooter sometimes seen in this era movie
or the lead slinging shooting style no sane cowboy would use).
I liked seeing these movies one more time...

Pilot

Bryan Fuller has done way better
I'm usually a big fan of anything Bryan Fuller does, but this pilot didn't impress me. I've already forgotten the characters' personalities. I'll watch it if a series airs, but I don't think it will be amazing like other things Fuller has written.

Grandpa knows best
Being a Munsters fantom which is only eclipsed by a wolf hair's breadth by The Addams Family, I decided to inspect this latest media offering presented as a Halloween special. Immediately, I was pleased by the elegant environment displayed apparently, this version takes place in San Francisco, evidenced by the Golden Gate Bridge in the background of the mansion, although the characters are lacking in said character with the exception of Grandpa here portrayed by comic Eddie Izzard, as a truly evil blood-thirsty patriarch; being Count Dracula, & a product of "The Old Country", after all - while the rest of the characters are lackluster, though Marilyn fits the bill perfectly.

This production seems an attempt to "normalize" the family, perhaps to make it somewhat more "believable". Though the point of the series is that these are a clan of monsters who happen to act like most everyone else.

Visually, where the true punchline is, it's almost like The Munsters...

Would have been a fun series.
I love Bryan Fuller's series (Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies, Dead Like Me, Hannibal) so I was looking forward to giving this a look . It's fun, but it IS a pilot, so much of it is concerned with setting up the new Munster's premise. It's a bit darker than I expected, with Eddie Izzard being dead creepy as Grandpa. If they'd green-lighted the series, I'd have watched it, but I can see why they didn't. The horror/comedy thing is a tough sell (trust me, I know).Still, worth a look, if you'd like to see how a talented cast and writer handled a modern rebooting of The Munsters.
